Two Victims Identified in the Ivy League School Shooting as Police Persist in Manhunt for Gunman.

Both young individuals who lost their lives in the recent tragic incident on the university campus were being remembered Monday – as a manhunt for their killer carried on following the discharge by Rhode Island officials of the single suspect detained in connection in the case.

Tributes for Ella Cook

The student Ella Cook, a second-year scholar from Alabama, was described as “a wonderful, steady, devout, shining presence”, as stated by the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Birmingham, which paid tribute to her at a service on Sunday.

Cook was the vice-presidency of Brown’s division of the campus GOP group, according to the organization. Karoline Leavitt also posted condolences on social media, saying in part: “There are no words. Thinking of her loved ones and companions, above all her mom and dad.”

MukhammadAziz Umurzokov

The other deceased individual was an Uzbek national named MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, from Uzbekistan in his first year of studies at the Ivy League university, his family confirmed.

Umurzokov’s identity was confirmed by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.

“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. He harbored grand aspirations of entering the field of neurosurgery and aiding others,” his sister, Samira Umurzokova said in a memorial statement.

The Shooting Incident

An additional nine individuals were hurt in the violent event in the school of engineering of Brown’s university in Providence, during the university's examination week.

Authorities said on Sunday evening that a 24-year-man arrested in a police operation at a hotel about 17 miles from the university earlier in the day was set to be freed.

“There is a killer at large,” said Peter Neronha, Peter Neronha.

Neronha explained, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you need to change course and head another way, and that is the current situation over the last day or so.”

Ongoing Concerns

The city's mayor, Brett Smiley, noted: “This will probably generate new worry for our public”.

The gunman began shooting inside a classroom in the engineering building on Saturday, shooting over four dozen bullets from a 9mm pistol, a police source told the news agency.

Police that searched the hotel seized a pair of pistols and two loaded 30-round magazines when the suspect was taken into custody, the news agency reported.

The Wounded Victims

Among those wounded, one student was discharged from care, said the university president, Christina Paxson. An additional seven were in grave but unchanging health, and one was in critical condition, police said on Sunday.

Durham Academy, a private academy in Durham, North Carolina, said a recent graduate, Kendall Turner, was in the group of seriously hurt victims.

Further Tributes

Cook was remembered at a religious service in Birmingham on Sunday. A reverend stated, “She shone as a remarkable, stable, devout beacon not only here growing up... but at the university she was a radiant presence in that particular place as well.”

A group leader, Martin Bertao, released remarks from the organization. “Ella was known for her fearless, heroic, and gentle spirit as she served her chapter and fellow classmates,” he said.

Jonathan Henick, Jonathan Henick, said he was “profoundly grieved” by the student's death in a message. “We extend our sincere condolences to his relatives, loved ones, and schoolmates and lament the passing of his bright future.”
