Assassin's Creed Introduces Bizarre AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that defies traditional forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Revealed
According to the official release, "An unusual encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where whispers of prohibited rituals and terrifying changes resonate through the shadows." The storyline features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a hidden cult.
The adventure concentrates on "strange tests and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Transformations
The teaser highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Bonus Material
Players who accomplish the adventure will obtain an exclusive katana alongside numerous objects hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique implements
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Update
This update also introduces the game's newest free story content, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
